To the Future Mini Psychologists

Image
Hello from a graduating senior who doesn't regret taking AP Pysch at a time senioritis hit hard, I totally recommend taking AP Pysch for whatever grade you're going to be in. I debated taking Psych, but it is a worthwhile class that can be applied to literally anything that is very interesting. You will definitely need to do the vocab according to the study plan or even earlier if you can help it. Studying for every test and paying attention to each assignment will help your future self when you're getting ready to take the AP. If you just do whatever classwork and very minimal hw given, you're already on track to doing well on the AP. Studying for the progressive tests also helps because you already know most of the stuff by the AP test. Just do everything and you basically on have to review around the time of the AP rather than trying to learn everything for the first time. My favorite activities are the psych documentaries that we get to watch because those always ...

MeMEsSsS This meme is about my long journey to understand the differences between fixed ration, variable ration, fixed interval, and variable interval. This  link  describes the difference between the four similar topics.  Link:  https://learningcenter.unc.edu/tips-and-tools/studying-101-study-smarter-not-harder/ Link:  https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/320165.php Link:  https://www.theguardian.com/education/2016/jan/23/spaced-repetition-a-hack-to-make-your-brain-store-information \Link:  https://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2017/05/29/psychology-senioritis

ANYTHING PSYCHOLOGICAL

HIIIIII, On the news and in society, there are always references to the different generations, and the problems and unique qualities that follow. For example, this interesting  article  discusses the cultural psychology of generation X. While I am of the infamous Gen Z, it is interesting to see the analysis of other generations. there is always the discussion on how to influence different generations in the market. In this take on generation X (first of all, why isn't there a Generation Y, like why), the disconnect on the topics of marijuana, politics, and technology are analyzed. The detrimental effects of technology are discussed and how the generation X members are stuck between the two generations as they slightly know how to use it but also understand the effects unlike millennial. Moreover, it seems in general Generation X is always in the middle of not only the two generations but polarizing topics that the baby boomers and millennial oppose each other on or have di...

HIIIIII, It’s time to find out if I have a personality, and if so what type of personality. For the first test, I answered the Jung test, which had a ton of questions to answer. In the end, my result wasssss: I got ESTJ. I honestly am not surprised that I got ETJ because I talk a lot and am always ready to socialize. However, I don’t know how I got S because I am not really that sensitive.

Hellooooooooo Holaaaaaaaaaa Bonjourrrrrrrrr The  article  I have chosen is about weird aftertastes or tastes than you get in you mouth with certain food combinations after eating miracle fruit. If you eat miracle fruit, it will essentially switch the tastes to the opposite intended taste. For example, a lemon is normally sour, but after eating miracle fruit, the lemon will taste sweet. For the artichoke, it can leave a lingering sweet taste when you drink water because there is a protein that gets left behind initially and then washes away with a sweet taste. This similar phenomenon occurs with other food combos! I would definitely try this, but the miracle fruit is expensive. Instead, I would just buy some artichokes and test out whether this article pertains to me. I am not color blind!!! Shree Ramamoorthy

Week 4: My Life

Image
Hi! I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2001. When I was three, I moved to Missouri City. I still visit North Carolina almost every summer, and it is literally just so green. I remember loving my preschool because they taught us yoga. I went to Lexington Creek Elementary and moved closer to the school in the first grade. Elementary was the wackiest period of my life. I used to hide from my kindergarten teacher behind the pocket chart, brought tons of polly pocket toys in first grade, and remember this one day in second grade where we showed our teacher that a lot of us could turn our arms 360 degrees. When I learned how to ride the bike after multiple relatives helped, I could finally pedal down the street and then I realized that no one had ever taught me how to brake as I had not made it that far. One time, my cousin and I forgot get my little cousin off the bus, so we dropped everything and chased after the bus. I remember playing soccer, tennis, swimming, and doing gymnasti...

Week 3: BioHeroes

Image
Hi! My birth month is February, which corresponds to the part medulla oblangata. My birth day is the 22nd, which corresponds to the neurotransmitter Substance P. My hero is AutonomicPain. My hero has the combined abilities given by the medulla oblangata and Substance P. The medulla oblangata contributes the ability to  help transfer messages to the spinal cord and the thalamus, which is in the brain, from the body. In addition, it is a center for respiration and circulation, and  helps regulate breathing, heart and blood vessel function, digestion, sneezing, and swallowing. Substance P is involved in the regualtion of the pain threshold.  AutonomicPain is from the planet Zolof and migrated to Earth during World War Z after watching her entire species die as a child because they could not breathe. From then on, this hero formed and used the powers that allowed her to be the only survivor to help others in need. She stops people from feeling pain by adju...
